Objective 1: To improve
education facilities for school children and their teachers
Reduced numbers of drop outs
through the provision of a friendly and safe learning environment for
children; improved enrolment and retention of girls through the provision of
a school environment that provides protection and respect; increased
retention/commitment of teachers.
Objective 2:
To improve sanitation and hygiene knowledge, attitudes and practices among
school children and the wider community.
Improved sanitation levels in
schools, and therefore disease burden, through the creation of health clubs
spreading basic hygiene messages; improved sanitation levels within the wider
community through a domino effect involving the transmission of hygiene
messages from children to their families and friends.
Objective 3:
To improve school food security
Improved food security and
nutritional status among school children through increased dietary intake and
dietary utilization.
Objective 4:
To improve the management, operation and maintenance of pre-primary and
primary education facilities.
Schools are well managed and
maintained.
